“Some are young people who don't know who they are, what they can be or even want to be. They are afraid, but they don't know of what. They are angry, but they don't know at whom. They are rejected and they don't know why. All they want is to be somebody. ”
~Thomas Monson

My Approach
I am passionate about working with teens/young adults and their families and specialize in supporting them in this potent and often challenging time in their lives. I offer one to one therapy with the youth or the parent(s), family sessions, or a blend of both depending on your unique situation and needs. I believe that bringing tools to the whole family, such as effective communication, positive parenting skills and conflict resolution strategies can increase the success of our work together.
I deeply respect young people and have a reputation for building a strong connection and easy rapport with the most resistant young clients. Youth are often very skeptical about therapy and I meet their wariness with honesty and acceptance. My approach with teens is centered around the here and now. I help them identify their inherent strengths and draw on their natural resiliency to increase coping skills. I seek to empower my young clients to find their voice and gain confidence in being themselves and to renew the bond between parent(s) and child.
